This blanket would make a lovely gift for a newborn baby. 

Crocheted in a Double Knit acrylic yarn (USA light worsted) (AUS 8 ply) with a (G/6 4mm Hook).

This Teddy bear and heart blanket is just the right size for a new baby, little enough to fit the moses basket and stroller or can be folded in half for the car seat :-) Size 22 x 22" 
May be made to any size, simply by adding more or less squares. 

A knowledge of basic crochet stitches needed. (UK Terms Dc, Tr, Dtr) (USA Terms Sc, Dc, Tr) 

Cotton yarns can also be used as well as other yarns weights along with the appropriate hook size.
