My sofa throw shows the addition of tassels. I will demonstrate how to make these beautiful tassels for you to add to the Throw (I do not recommend adding these to the baby blanket due to being a choking hazard).
My example has been designed in Aran weight yarn but you can easily make it in both DK and Chunky, simply by making more or less multiples and changing the hook size.

Suggested yarns: KIng Cole Comfort Aran 100g.
any similar aran weight yarns may be used for this blanket and throw.
