The examples in this pattern have been crocheted using DK (USA light worsted) yarn. A great weight for a new baby (Aran weight yarn may also be used, but will result in a thicker, larger blanket). Yarn amounts given in pattern are for a DK (light worsted) blanket.

Hook sizes 4.5mm (3.5mm & 3mm for the border) (USA7 (E/4 & D/3 for the border)
Other yarn recomendations: King Cole Comfort DK 100g, Paintbox DK, Stylecraft Special DK for babies, in fact most other soft DK yarns of a similar weight may be used.
